Review on πŸ”Œ Syba Mini PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Network Controller Card with 10/100/1000Mbps RJ45 LAN NIC, RTL8168C Chipset by Bill Kodba

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great on my Intel Atom based Pico-ITX board (https

) on Linux (Debian 8 "Jessie"). Didn't even have to pull new packages from apt-get, it worked right away. The chip is just a Realtek RTL8168, very common and supported by most (probably all) modern Linux distributions without having to compile anything yourself. Speed tested with some simple tests as well as the onboard chip on my board which is also Realtek gigabit and is probably almost the same. Build quality seems good, let's see if it stands the test of time, but I don't see any red flags. At least on my Pico-ITX board, the pins on this board don't touch anything they shouldn't like. A few reviewers did mention it, but of course your mileage may vary. This is especially handy since it's not always easy to find a cheap board with two Ethernet ports in the limited built-in space, but now many of them have Mini-PCIe. Will update if I have any problems.
