My husband uses a Libre 14-day continuous blood glucose meter. He finds that he has to cover the sensor with a sticky band-aid or he'll bump into doors or furniture and knock the sensor off. He estimates these patches typically last 14 days. At the end of the 14-day period, there may be some upside potential around the edges, but not that much. In the summer when it's really active, we might need to change the patch after about 8 days, but it's easy to hold the sensor and remove the patch to replace it with a new one. I usually do this for him. I keep my thumb firmly on the sensor, peel off the patch with other fingers/hand, separate the patch from the sensor portion, place my thumb back on the bare sensor and finish peeling the patch. Replace with new patch. He showers, swims, sweats, sleeps with plasters on. He has sensitive skin but has reacted little to it. He moves the patch to give his skin a break. At first he tried other types of patches but these proved to be the best. There are no sensor errors. No lost sensors. He likes the Libre system.
