Allows you to adjust the fit without affecting your baby's soft areas

I have never found a hat for my baby that fits him. Most of them had bulky adjustable mechanisms which I found uncomfortable and somewhat harmful to my child. Sometimes she would get upset if we put on a hat and tore it off. The bonnets left dents on her head, which bothered me because the baby's head was still soft. It made me throw away so many hats. Eventually I stopped looking for the perfect hat and a ball stain formed while lying on the cotton sheets (cotton breaks hair). It was difficult for this area to regrow unprotected. I'm so glad I found this hood. Here are the pros and cons: Pro-1. The strap is wide and elastic enough to easily adjust to the size of your head. It fits like a glove without leaving any dents. *If your kid wakes up from this hat with dents, HE IS HERE TOO*2. The satin is of high quality and protects the hair well. This is comparable to my high quality hoods.3. The extra strap (after adjustment) can be tucked into the hood lining for a neat look, and there is no messy rope to hang down and bother the baby.4. It stays all night.5. If I don't adjust it and it's a little too big over her head (and slides over her eyes) it never gets past her eyes and nose. To me this is not a safety risk. STILL SUPERVISE YOUR CHILD to make sure everything is safe6. The "hardware" on the adjustable strap is strong but thin enough not to hurt my baby.7. The next morning leaves no dents around your head. Cons-1. Sometimes it can be a bit tricky to put the extra strap back into the liner (after adjustment) (not necessarily a bad thing as you want it to stay in the liner after adjustment for a perfect fit, but I thought so). only I would like to mention it here). Overall I love this baby hat and am so glad I decided to give it one last try to find the perfect hat for her. For the record, my baby is 5 months old BUT when she came in for checkup at 4 months she was the same size as a 10 month old so I bought her a 0-3T cap that said LARGE. I hope this helps someone!
