I I'm a freelance loose leaf tea noob and one of my friends gave me a big box with samples of different nice teas so I bought them this mug. As far as I can tell, this works well - some of the best teas pass through a strainer, but they're nice and deep in the cup, allowing your leaves to circulate well. I also liked this volume as many of the tea mugs are huge. This one fits in the palms of both of my hands when my hands are cold and semi-insulated - it doesn't stay hot for too long, but long enough to drink a full cup.
