Great accessory. Works with large phone cases. Be sure to bring a 1 " micro USB to iPhone cable.
My iPhone X with Lifeproof case was too big to fit Mavic Mini OEM controller with rubber feet and dust kept getting between the screen and the case, removing it every time to avoid the to use drone. This accessory along with the 1 inch micro USB to iPhone cable did the trick for me. It falls apart nicely and evenly. I keep the inert part of the controller in the spring-loaded part of my phone/desk when I travel.
