Review on Gray Boogie Board Jot LCD Writing Tablet - 8.5-inch Reusable Tablet with Instant Erase, Stylus Pen, Magnets, and Kickstand by Jared Peck

Revainrating 4 out of 5

OK, not great. Some design flaws.

Works. Compared to the original (not Jot but Original Original) I'd say worse.* Yes, the screen is brighter, but the viewing angle seems narrower. So it gets dark quicker depending on how it's tilted or where you are. * The pen holder is pretty bad. It's really hard to remove. When the board is lying on a surface (wall, table, etc.) it's almost impossible to get it out (unless you tie a rope to a sling to get it out, like I did). There is no gripping space at either end, and the thickness of the pin is the same as that of the holder. The original boogie board had the perfect sliding clip.* As far as I can tell, there is no pull lock. The original BB had a removable slide pin clip that also acted as an anti-erase feature, just slide it over the button. It had a good grip. * The pen itself is pretty good. Good subtle point. * The screen feels interesting. It feels like writing on paper on a wooden table. The original was very smooth. Not sure which I like better.* Strong magnets. it will not slip. It would be much better if the pen holder was just a clip on one side for easy removal like the original.
