I got this to replace my 4 year old $20 rugged fan that my new friend accidentally broke . This was never a problem and was very good. THIS fan is terrible and I actively hate him. Below the feature score, it asks about the battery life. THIS IS WITHOUT BATTERY! It has a horrible charging connector that sticks out at an odd angle and is detachable, but then again it won't charge or work if it's not plugged in! The ALL reason I needed a new fan was for my bedroom window. This is not good, very bad, don't buy a "fan" that keeps falling out of the window by itself. I hear a bang and this stupid thing will be on the ground. It gets thrown seriously off my windowsill several times a day (very big, nothing else has fallen unless pushed). I could handle it if it really works like a fan should. You know air bubbles? But it's the least efficient air motor I've come across. Farts have more wind than that. It's very loud and I can't feel the airflow more than 2 inches away. It also somehow closes the blinds (those horizontal slats) when they're turned on, instead of blowing air into the room. Seriously, when I say it sucks, I'm 99% sure it's actually sucking in air, not blowing it out. This purchase caused me such anger and hatred (after spending about $30 on it). I want to buy a new fan. so i can use office space for this very bad product. If you don't use it over a large area with the stand lowered, it will have no effect. Even then, it's child's play at best.
