Review on LG 24UD58 B: 24 Inch Monitor with FreeSync, HDMI, and 60Hz Refresh Rate - Best Buy by Jason Lambert

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Best value for money in my rating

This rating refers to the 24-inch model. I bought this monitor for photo editing and occasional gaming. Pros: Price, Screen Brightness, High Resolution, Construction, OSD First, this monitor is cheap for what you get. You get a relatively high resolution. , an IPS panel and probably almost complete sRGB coverage. It's not an HDR monitor, but the backlight is reasonably bright below 100%. This means there's some headroom to increase the brightness as the LEDs slowly dim over the years. My monitor had no dead pixels. The stand only has one tilt adjustment, but overall the monitor feels solid. It feels high quality to the top That doesn't happen with that. The OSD is also very well designed and easy to use. You navigate it with a single button, which is basically a navigation bar. I want all monitors to use this setting. The monitor warms up noticeably at the top and bottom of the screen. These are real hotspots and not the existing IPS glow. They aren't terrible and don't stand out in the real world. There also seems to be a lack of color uniformity across the screen. The right side in particular has a slight green tint. It's hard to tell how many there are based on the viewing angle. Again, this is a small problem. In terms of contrast, black levels are a bit bright and there's IPS glow in the corners. Contrast is definitely not this monitor's forte, although I'd say it's still acceptable. Conclusion: I think this monitor offers a lot of value. The build quality has exceeded all expectations for the price and everything else is acceptable. If you're looking for a cheap, high-resolution monitor, I think this is worth considering.
