Excellent: very nice warm diffused light made a big difference in the kitchen lighting where cans were lit with a hodgepodge of 65-85w reflector bulbs (previous owner), IMO , was not sufficient to illuminate the room. There's no hum and they dim very well, with the color of the light remaining nearly the same across the brightness range. As a bonus, the old, yellowed trim rings are now thrown in the trash, and these upgraded blocks cover the hole in the ceiling. However, the supplied foam ring is a joke. Useless. One might wonder why Cooper Electric even bothered with this, but I suspect it meets some of the minimum requirements of the standard. If it bothers me, I would substitute a strip of tape cut to length and taped to the inside of the hood rim.
