Review on Dell Generation I7 8565U 13 3 Inch V5390 7688GRY PUS by Stanislaw Kimsa ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Im amazed! It was definitely worth the money!

So. The laptop was taken (read "selected for 6 weeks with a detailed study of the market") for work on the road, and indeed, to always be with you. Until going to the store, to football or to drinking. These are the realities of the position. We needed: performance, autonomy and a minimum load on the weight of the backpack. And he's perfect for it. The pros absolutely outweigh the cons. And for the vast majority of users, it is suitable as a full-fledged working machine. What was immediately added: Windows 10 Pro (~200r) 1 Tb SSD Intel (~ 9k), native went to home computer (subtract ~ 2-3k from the cost) Xiaomi Mi Power Bank 3 Pro 20220 mAh (~2.5k) Apple Type-C cable 1m MUF72ZM/A (~1.5k) In fact, for ~ 58k we have a working machine with 1Tb SSD memory on board and autonomy of ~ 15-20 hours.

Pros
  • 1. "Weight/Size/Performance" ratio. I always have a working machine in my backpack (I work as a programmer), which I practically do not feel. It is relatively convenient to work even standing in the vestibule of the train. But yes, if it's not crowded, of course. When working while sitting, the screen does not interfere with the person sitting opposite. It sounds kind of funny or stupid, but I managed to piss off a lot of people over the past 10 years. 2. Full-fledged Type-C: charging, display connection and other goodies. In this price segment, not everyone can boast of this. Apparently, Apple adopted the fashion for the connector, but did not understand the essence. 3. Autonomy. Enough for ~ 4-6 hours in operation mode. I can’t say how long it will last in surfing mode and music, I took it for work on the road. 4. Touchpad. Here it is as close as possible in terms of convenience to the MacBooks from everything I have worked with. I immediately bought a BT mouse for him, in the end I refused as unnecessary. 5. Screen. Yes, glossy. Yes, it reflects everything around. But you don't notice at work. And what are his limits. 6. Keyboard. Very pleasant to the touch, good low stroke. Backlight. 7. Price and availability of a complete set with Linux. i5/8/256/mx250 for 46500 (2022.09). 8. Assembly. Qualitatively. There is nothing more to add. 9. Dell Warranty. In 2022, they are now one of the best in terms of service.
Cons
  • 1. LPDDR3 memory. Soldered on the board, do not expand. But 8GB, in my opinion, is currently enough for 90% of tasks, even professional ones. Up to a raising of a virtualka or containerization. 2. Cooling system. It's just an out. She goes to the screen. Yes, when working in the normal position, it is not noticeable at all and everything is perfect. But you can forget about "connect to monitors and close the lid". He starts to warm up. 3. Body material and glossy screen. Everything is in the fingers. Take microfiber glasses with you in your backpack. 4. Keyboard. BackSpace really sticks, as if there is something under it. But it works fine. 5. Lack of a finger scanner. Well, such a thing, although not critical.
