Year of Ownership: Perfect!

UPDATE 2: Since the A1 was released 2 days ago, I remembered never updating this A7R4 review. So. I've had my camera for over a year now. It's great, you won't regret it. I moved from Canon hesitant about the change and a little hesitant because it was a big change. I really appreciate the lightness of the camera compared to the Canon DSLRs I've used. The A7R4 feels almost like a Canon Rebel in my hands and is very light. until you add heavy glass, of course. Speaking of glass, I've bought FE 50mm 1.8, 20mm 1.8G and 135mm 1.8 GM over the past year. Picture and performance with Sony glass is a treat. The results are impressive. Oh, and by the way, the pics I've added here are from a year ago at 50mm 1.8 @ 1.8. I never stated. UPDATE 1: Well I've had the camera for a little over 4 weeks and have tested pretty much everything. There are no complaints yet. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I'll start with autofocus first. I read hundreds of complaints about it and hesitated to buy it because of so many bad reviews. I looked at it carefully and decided to buy it. The problem became clear with the Canon adapter and lenses, I also have other lenses, but they are manual, so there is no point in going into details. However, with Canon lenses, I have found that the more expensive the lens, the better the compatibility with the Sony camera. I bought a Sigma MC-11 adapter and it works almost perfectly with L lenses. Sometimes it's difficult when the area you want to focus on is flat and smooth. If he has a lot of things to focus on, he will focus right away. Once you move on to cheaper lenses like the Canon 50mm 1.8 you'll immediately realize how much it struggles to focus on anything, but it's still serviceable. I have a Canon 75-300mm, it's the cheapest zoom lens you can find. and this lens with Sony becomes a manual lens. Realizing this I immediately ordered a Sony lens, ordered the cheapest lens I could find to test it out. So I got the Sony 50mm 1.8 and everything about the autofocus works perfectly, focuses without hesitation and is fast. So I think G lenses must be fantastic for this camera. So you need to save money and buy or rent a few to test any of these images. The picture quality is absurd. It's almost, almost medium format quality. For a full-frame sensor, the image is pretty outstanding. I've added some images where you can see a cropped image of a small area of the original image, and then the original image with the area I cropped marked with a box. And the last image is an indoor shot taken at ISO 10000 and there is hardly any noise until you zoom in. I have no complaints about the quality, it's pretty nice. In terms of ergonomics, I have nothing to complain about. I switched from Canon, but I'm not a loyalist, so I adapt to whoever I'm switching to. The buttons are easy to reach for my hands and feel good. This camera is light, very light. It feels like a toy. It's like a feather compared to big Canon cameras. menu system. To be honest, I don't understand everyone who complains about the menu navigation. I think people who complain about this are whining for no reason. I've been using Canon for over 10 years, maybe longer. It took me 3 days to get used to this menu system. Maybe better? Of course it could be better! But the menu works, you just have to get used to it. And finally, the seller added a lot of souvenirs at the same price as the camera. So getting free stuff was a nice bonus. In the promotional picture they had a dual charger so I bought that particular combo but it didn't come with the camera just an extra charger. But hey, they sent me a bunch of extra stuff and it was all included for the same price as if I had bought the camera on my own. So I did not complain to the seller about this, although it would be nice to get what is advertised. Definitely delivered on time, everything was well packed, nothing was damaged. The camera has been authenticated and registered with Sony for warranty and future updates. I love this camera. The reviews on the web are quite harsh on this AR74, heavily criticized for the menu system, for the ergonomics, for the buffering, for the fact that the noise is the same as previous Sony cameras. Full 60MP images are much larger compared to previous cameras, so keep that in mind. This enormous file and image size contains so much information and detail that after setting it up with the software you will see a huge difference in the level of detail. No comparison to previous cameras. So after she's been with me for over a month I just think they're checking that cell to show they have no prejudice against her. Definitely a great product from Sony.
