I decided to give beeswax paste a try after watching a couple of furniture restoration shows. It really worked wonders for the old wood of an antique rocking chair. The wood was originally dull and dry. While I could see the stain left behind, I don't think the finish was otherwise left behind. The beeswax gave it a nice shine, soaked into the wood and afterwards it looked supple and almost like I covered it with a satin finish polyurethane. I was very happy with this product for this purpose. I tried it on a piece that still had a finish but in this case it worked just as well as other wood waxes/furniture oils etc I've tried. It sticks well to the rocker and is easy to apply when needed. would recommend
