Review on πŸ”₯ Efficient Rowenta Access Steam Iron: 1700 Watts of Power in Sleek Black Design by Eric Hartman

Works well but some considerations

I have decided to replace my old Rowenta Steam Iron which was at least 20 years old. Yes, these things last a long time. It's a good medium-power iron, not the top-of-the-line Rowenta, but it's good for those of us who don't need to iron a lot of different fabrics. Most of my ironing work consists of hand-embroidered sheets and pillowcases made of cotton or linen. The iron is designed to be used with pure tap water, not distilled water. However, if you live in an area with "very hard" water, they recommend a 50:50 mix of tap water and distilled water. As others have pointed out, it's almost impossible to see how much water is in the water tank. According to customer questions and answers, the water tank holds 8.5 ounces, but mine seems to overflow sooner. I fill it up by pouring about 6 ounces (3/4 cup) of water into a one-cup measuring cup and using that to fill the reservoir. to fill. The opening to the water tank is tiny with an oddly placed lid. Maybe they are all like that now, I don't know since my old iron is so old. In any case, refilling when the iron is hot is difficult. No matter what, I get water all over the place when I try to fill it up. I also find the under-handle temperature dial a bit awkward to use and confusing. Not a problem for me as I mostly tune in for cotton and linen, but for someone like my mum who is farsighted and can't see up close without thick glasses and who also has very severe arthritis. in their fingers it would be difficult for them to turn the wheel and also difficult for them to see the settings. So this might be a consideration for some people.
