I bought 2 connectors, this one and Tomtoc USB C to DP 1.4 adapter. In an attempt to redesign and tidy up my wiring in my office/man cave, I was specifically looking for a 1.4 adapter to use the longer kabeldirekt 15ft dp vesa certified cable. My laptop is powered by a Samsung Odyssey G9 and it works fine with the shorter USB-C 1.2 DP cable. However, I had to move my laptop and its mount for the configuration I wanted, and without a 1.4 dp 15ft USB-C solution, this was my only option. The Cable Matters connector works, but it doesn't seem to be getting enough power. If it had enough power to send signals down a 15 foot cable, I think that would be the ideal solution. The reason I say this is because the Tomtoc device actually works without any issues. The problem I'm having is the screen tearing and flickering while the other device mentioned works fine. What bothers me about the other device is the end of the USB-C connector, which doesn't look as good as Cable Matter's. When I wiggle the cable up and down on a Tomtoc device I sometimes get a completely black screen and it goes back where the Cable Matters connector didn't have this problem. If you're using this solution for something longer than 10ft, I think you should look elsewhere (or look for a repeater/amplifier in between). However, this device is not suitable for my application due to my current cable length.
