I read so many reviews that these curlers came vacuum packed and broke and needed soaking to get them back in shape. The rolls I received were not vacuum packed and not broken. When I received them they were ready to use. I have long hair and before buying this set I bought a 0.98 inch set. It seemed too small to me because the curl was too tight. Measuring just over 1.5 inches in diameter, these curlers are perfect for me. Before I got these curlers, I curled my hair every day with a rotating curling iron that dried the ends of my hair. In addition, the curl did not last at all, especially with high humidity in the summer. For the last few nights I've been styling my dry hair with this roller right before bed. It takes me about 10 minutes to wrap all of my hair in curlers. I have no problem curling my hair and I had no problem untying the barrettes. These rolls are soft enough to sleep on, I had no trouble sleeping on them. I don't cover the rolls with anything and at night they didn't unscrew from anyone. I found them very easy to use and comfortable for sleeping. By styling my hair at night before bed I don't need a curling iron the next day and the curl actually lasts longer than with a curling iron. My next test is to spray the curlers after I have them in my hair. It can help curl longer hair longer the next day. As mentioned above, I had no problem soaking the curlers before use (the packaging may have changed). After removing them from my hair, they wrinkle a bit, but I take them out and leave them until I get dressed. They're all back in shape and can be put away when I get dressed. Also, as mentioned, I had no issues with them sticking together or falling apart at night. UPDATE 6/4/21: As mentioned before, I have long hair. My hair is very frizz resistant. When I used a curling iron, my hair looked gorgeous the first time, but when I got up from the second floor of my house to the first, it straightened. Within half an hour, especially with the summer humidity, you would never have guessed I was trying to curl my hair. The first few times I used these curlers, I dried my hair the night before. When I first took the curlers off there was a lot of curl and the curls stayed on the longest part of my hair for hours. The curl at the crown loosened up after a few hours but was still beautiful all day long. Last night I sprayed my hair before curling it to keep it slightly damp. For the first time in years, the curl lasted all day and into the evening. I'm excited. The curl is a bit loose, but it's a lot better than burning my hair with a curling iron or getting me a perm that makes me look like I stuck my finger in a socket. After using this roller 4 nights in a row I found that it is easy to use, lasts all night and most importantly, very comfortable to sleep on. I am personally very satisfied with these curlers and can recommend them. I hope this review was helpful to you.
