Failed after 2 minutes - had to return

After only 2 minutes of use, the adapter became hot and stopped outputting an HDMI signal. This behavior has been observed on several different monitors, each with a different HDMI cable. With this computer (new 16" MacBook Pro) another adapter works fine. I had to return for a refund. I won't be buying again.
