Overload protection features Excellent

The features I like are the DC volt meter on the front and the ability to hard wire it into an existing 120 volt installation. The device did not get very hot during my test. The only downside I had was having to cut the 4/0 AWG wire terminals to work with the DC input terminals. Depending on the length of the cable between the battery and the inverter, a strong cable with reinforced connectors may be required for the proper installation of this device. my pickup with a 4/0 AWG welded wire. The reason for using the heavy duty cable was that the smallest fuse I had on hand to protect the wires was 200A, but the cables provided should be sufficient for most applications at this wire length. I recommend a fuse for all power cables coming directly from the battery post. The customer support team answered my question perfectly. Her reply came the next morning and the explanation was understood. I know the overload protection is working fine because it wouldn't start my 26 gallon Husky air compressor. The support response led me to conclude that the inrush current is 100 amps, not the 12 amps I measured with mains power, which means it requires 12,000 watts, which is a lot more than the 5,000 watt specification. Oops! Two features that I think will be useful for future models are an AC output voltage meter and an AC output ammeter/wattmeter to make it easier for people like me to see when I'm approaching max power. Opening the case to connect a second meter will likely void the warranty. I think this is a good device, especially for the price. 5 solid stars!
