Grandslam Wooden Shaving Bowl with Oak Lid is a beautiful wooden bowl with a lid as far as it goes. More attention could be paid to polishing and tool mark smoothing, but it's not bad, just nowhere near excellent. But it has to be a shaving bowl with a lid, and that's the problem. This particular shaving bowl doesn't have a flat bottom, so forget about putting a pack of Tabac or any other decent pack of flat-bottomed shaving soap in it. My Tabac dishwasher could get into the bowl but then it would sit too high and the lid wouldn't close. The bowl looked like it would fit Taylor's Old Bond Street sandalwood washing machine, as this soap washing machine has a curved bottom. You can see in the picture that while the washer fits snugly in the bowl itself, it is still too thick for the lid of this shaving bowl to close over the washer. In short, unless you use a mini washing machine. Shaving soap or intending to rub soap into the bowl, don't bother buying a grandslam wooden shaving bowl with a lid. It's too small to be used as a foam container and certainly won't fit in a regular shaving soap pack. Although it might be nice to put pocket money in.
