Simpler is better on my review.

If you have sensitive speakers that you plan to have near you (like computer desktop speakers), this is a great choice. Since it doesn't have tone controls, or a Bluetooth module, it reproduces what it receives perfectly and with zero noise. The choice of just adding an opamp is the cherry on top, which helps on impedance matching and prevents twitchy effects from adjusting a volume knob like other amps with the same chipset. As of note (and from experience), don't use a power supply with an earth ground with a desktop computer or any other device with a ground. It will just pick up all the noise that goes through it otherwise. And I would never, ever absolutely recommend defeating the earth ground off a 19.5v 65W or higher laptop power supply *wink*.09/29/2021Just wanted to add that some people are confused about the rated power output vs what they are getting in the real world. The input voltage and speaker impedance will decide what the power output will be, and here's a reference list based on the Texas Instrument datasheet to max out the output. Keep in mind that the maximum voltage for the TPA3116 chipset is 26V as per the datasheet:84.5W per channel at 8 ohms, PSU required 26V 6.5A (169W)96W per channel at 6 ohms, PSU required 24V 8A (192W)100W per channel at 4 ohms, PSU required 20V 10A (200W) -- ABSOLUTE MAXIf you use a 19.5v 95W laptop PSU with 8 ohms speakers, the max amp output will be 47W per channel. Anything smaller than a 95W PSU could cause distortion or clipping at high volumes. The formula to come up with these numbers is PSU voltage squared divided by speaker impedance. Keep in mind that these are approximates and by no means should be taken as exact figures but should get you close enough.

Pros
  • Receivers & Amplifiers
Cons
  • The Nobsound Dual TPA3116 Digital Power Amplifier has a limited range of frequency response which may impact the quality of audio output.
