The eyelets clearly carried the weight of the relationship, but the curtain was too thin for serious engagements. In a sudden and somewhat abrupt parting, the eyelet had to keep the house, and the curtain hung there only thanks to the support of friends. He'd rather snuggle with your leg than into a cold, hard bath. Which I think may have contributed to the split as the sleeve was clearly trying to hold it together. They continue to share a place of residence, despite a lack of connection and apparent affection for others.
