Review on Black Replacement Spout Kit for Midwest Can 4240 - 1 Pack by Rob Clark

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Suitable but the design is not what I need.

My old grommet broke. It fits my gas tank. However, there are two things I don't really like: 1) It's stiff, so it's harder for me to fit a full tank of gas in my garden tractor. My old spout was flexible so I could maneuver the spout into the gas tank opening and then tilt the gas canister to allow the gas to flow. In this case I have to hold the gas can at an angle so that the spout falls into the hole. 2) He uses the trigger to release the gas. The trigger idea is good for a car, but not for a garden tractor. There is a filter at the opening of my gas tank that is smaller than the gas nozzle. So I can't just stick the gas tank in the tank and pull the trigger. Instead, I have to pull the trigger with one hand while holding the 5 gallon gas tank with the other hand/foot. This usually results in a leak. I am only deducting one star for the leak - the leak is due to the trigger. Other aspects of the design are easily understood using the product listing.

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Low repairability
