I was a little nervous about ordering as my Samsung M2825DW printer already has the latest firmware (3.00 . 01.35) and I don't mind that Samsung intentionally includes checks for unofficial toner cartridges when releasing firmware updates. The printer firmware release notes state that the firmware has only been tested with Samsung toner cartridges. However, I figured for half the price Samsung is asking for their cartridge, I figured the EZ Ink cartridge was worth trying out. My concerns grew when I opened the box and found that the EZ Ink cartridge had a sticker warning me not to update the printer firmware. . Luckily, once installed, the EZ Ink cartridge is immediately recognized by the printer as "MLT-D116L" and so far is working just as well as the Samsung cartridge. -10- 2017) my experience is that the EZ ink cartridge shipped in September 2017 is still working with no compatibility issues. Maybe EZ Ink had time to counter one of Samsung's tricks (or maybe I'm being unfair to Samsung, but they won't be the first printer manufacturer to infringe on third-party supplies, ostensibly in the name of guaranteeing their products' performance). Perhaps those with compatibility issues will have better luck with the same printer firmware and the newly released EZ ink cartridge. I'll post an update if there are any print quality issues or other issues during the life of the cartridge, but so far I'm very pleased. Note: If your printer works fine with the original firmware, I would first try the EZ Ink cartridge without an update and then only try an update if you have compatibility issues. I originally updated the printer firmware to fix the Google Cloud Print bug that was present in the original firmware and recently updated to version 3.00 as it was reloaded.
