I'm a tall guy and tend to turn over a lot at night, but I definitely sleep on my back every night. It's almost impossible to get comfortable with these pillows. "Medium firm" is the absolute best way to describe it and while these are usually my ideal pillows, as I said, they are way too thick. However, I find sleeping on my side amazing and it does a great job of keeping my lower back elevated when watching movies. a month but I'll probably get something else soon so I don't have to worry about neck pain or pushing my head to the very edge of the pillow so my neck isn't at a 45 degree angle when I lay down lay down
