This is how we make snowshoes at home. The boy gets 2 new pairs every year because he has outgrown last year's pairs so we clean last year's shoes and resell them. The proceeds from the resale are used to buy new shoes. We buy a pair that looks almost like tennis shoes - great for soft or snowy days when he's not playing outside and it's not too cold. The second pair is the more satisfying pair of the two - more waterproof and able to protect on colder days (we live in Minnesota) and in deeper snow. And these sorels are great for a warmer couple. They fit great, come in cute colors so my kids boots don't look like everyone else's, and they can be tightened to keep the snow out. The inner lining is comfortable for my sensory baby and slips out when sweat needs drying - my baby feet are sweating like there's no tomorrow.
