I have never cleaned a chimney myself but was intimidated by the prices from local companies. We have a furnace liner (Vermont Casts Montpelier) with a stainless steel chimney liner. I bought this, bought the sticks in HD (they're a lot cheaper there than Amazon for some reason) and last weekend it went haywire. Overall it took me about five minutes to clear the chimney and I ended up with about a gallon of what looked like coffee grounds (that was after two years of daily winter burning). I love the fact that I can now clean my chimney whenever I want. Definitely recommend.
