Remove and replace the old lamps. I was hoping for a brighter light but they are about the same as the old ones. However, they use less power to operate, so they're a good upgrade. If you use them in your car you may need to add a resistor to match the old glow resistor. I used them on my RV with no blink rate issues. The RV's brake and taillights are coming off the trailer of my truck. I did more than necessary so I grounded the highest pin of some of them, put a dab of solder on the two terminals on the base and used them to replace the bulbs in some of the lights in my RV. Works well and they hold securely with just one pin. They are very bright white (color temperature not sure but probably 5K or higher).
