Exceptional little machine

I've read almost every review of this little tool and found that more than enough people thought it was functional to risk it. In fact, there is little chance as it costs next to nothing. If it doesn't work out, it's not a big loss. If so, then a good buy. Work? Oh yeah! Right out of the box, this miniature unit connected up to 11 different old hard drives that had been in the box for 18 years in one housing. Worked with each of them! Setting up and connecting is a breeze for the lobotomized sea slug. Someone in a review complained that the instructions were inadequate. Apparently this reviewer is the kind of person who has trouble with "insert tab A into slot B". It is so easy. All you need to know about old drives is the location of the jumpers (remember the jumpers?). For Western Digital drives, remove the single jumper completely. With other brands I've had (Seagate, Maxtor, Quantum) I found that setting the jumper to "Master" was correct. It will take a minute or two for the computer to recognize the USB connection, just like any USB device. In this case, the active drive is assigned a drive letter, and you can read directories, files, and other data as if it were a standard internal or external drive. This data can be transferred to other drives in your system in the same manner as any data transfer drive. The device ships with different power connectors for different power connections on different drive types. Put simply, this inexpensive little tool is a big and powerful device. No techno computer, computer genius, or longtime power user with boxes full of long, silent hard drives should be without this little gem. For any IT professional who never knows what's in store for them at work, this can be a lifesaver. The entire unit and all cables fit into a 4" x 8" x 2" box and weigh less than a quarter pound of cheese. That's no reason not to have it in your emergency computer repair kit.
