This is not a heavy paper. It is about the same thickness as regular printer paper, and shadows appear when backlit. I wasn't expecting this to be the case, but for those planning to wrap artwork or use it to protect surfaces, you might want to look into heavier paper. Another important point is the size of the roll. Contrary to the description, the core is only about 1.5 inches in size. The overall diameter is about 2.75 inches (see picture). It's good wrapping paper and that's why I bought it. I stamp it with pigment ink to make inexpensive gift wrap for my online pottery customers for the upcoming holiday season.
