I am so happy with this purchase. I needed this to protect my very expensive non-washable wool mattress. When I first took it off I thought it might be useless because it was so thin. Even before I put it on the bed, I did a corner impregnation test with some vegetable oil. (If it's truly waterproof, even oil won't get through.) It passed my test. It didn't go through the pillow, neither did the water. The material is very soft and makes no noise. There was a slight odor immediately after packing, but it disappeared after 15 minutes. I was concerned it might rob me of the comfort I get with my wool mattress but it's perfect, it really made it stand out. I definitely recommend this product.
