These radios suit me perfectly. They are easy to program with the included cable and CHIRP. After a few minutes I programmed them the way I needed it. The biggest issue I had was the speakers/mics that came with the radios. It's complete rubbish. It's almost impossible to understand the other person if they're also using the included speaker/microphone. But after some internet searching I found how to modify them so that they actually work half decent: 1) Open the speaker/microphone (three screws on the back) and remove the one screw holding the speaker/microphone holding the microphone. .2) Using a Dremel tool, enlarge the hole in the front of the speaker/microphone housing 3) Using foam, cut a small piece and place over the microphone. Nothing special, just not covering the screw hole for the circuit board. 4) Replace the circuit board and screw it back on. 5) Cut another piece of foam covering most of the inside of the back of the speaker. / Microphone pocket. Again, do not cover the screw holes. 6) Reinstall the three screws. I made this modification to all my speakers/mics and now they sound a lot clearer when everyone is speaking.
