These are NOT "space fillers" and should not be. They are extra thin to minimize impact on tightly closing doors. The key is to carefully stand on the outside of the door and see where it hits first and place it on the frame there. Close and then see if other points can touch if you close/repair it fully and apply 1 or 2 more to those points. Did! If your door closes perfectly evenly while hitting the entire frame at the same time, try 1 on top and another next to the latch (maybe not directly behind it - try, and if it's difficult to close, move it a few inches away ) and 1 at the bottom of the door jamb. With "curved" doors, the top of the door may hit the jamb before you're done latching. So you might want to put a 1 or 2 over your head to soften that "early impact".
