It looks good, but as others have pointed out, it's not that durable. PROS: I have another wooden trash can in my living room, it is sturdy but difficult to lift. , so the simple approach has some advantages. It looks great, looks "historic" in my den where a plastic container would be out of place. CONS: The base is flimsy and the underside is held in place with a couple of very light nails. Like the others, the ground gave way after a fairly short time. SIMPLE IMPROVEMENT: I really liked the look and knew I could fix and improve the design by adding some small trims on the bottom. As you can see in the photo I had spare moldings that I cut and glued under the trash can. I painted the outside edges with a marker and after a few minutes I had a much stronger block that still looks great. The appearance hasn't changed. CONCLUSION: Looks good but needs a little tweaking to keep a decent time. I give it a generous 3 stars.
