We have two dogs. 50lb Pitbull/Bulldog mix and 90lb Boxer Pitbull mix. Both men. The bulldog pit is a recent rescue and the boxer pit has been with us for 4 years. Unfortunately, they don't like each other very much and the Boxmix constantly attacks Pit Bulldog while Pit Bulldog growls at the other and when provoked, fights easily. The old dog had his own shock collar and we bought a new one for the bulldog pit. It has many stages, but believe me - 1 beep - 1 vibration and 1 shock on stage 1 - in that order and the bulldog pit no longer needs to be shocked and wasn't the first time. If he misbehaves, a warning tone is enough to sort him out quickly. However, the collar doesn't seem to work for a 90-pound box pit. He's the main attacker and when we tried this new collar on him he didn't even flinch. We've reached level 100! Nothing at all. He barely made a "strange face" like he'd just sniffed some stinky poop. That's all. So in general I like this shocker but for medium sized dogs up to 60lbs for example. It's waterproof, so we know it's safe when we take our dogs for a swim or adventures in the woods. In the photo you can see exactly this shocker. Another dog's shocker from another company had to be removed due to a water problem. But this one seems to work great.
