I am pleased to review the Sleepypod bed/carrier because I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone who has to travel with a small pet. I have two cats and we moved from Chicago to Charleston which took three days. My cats are not avid travelers. Translation: They are scared when they are forced into a van and leave the house. I knew this would not be a pleasant experience. My cousin used it for her cat traveling from NYC to LA and loved it. I wanted to make this trip as comfortable and safe as possible for them. I will say that the price was a bit shocking. Especially if I have to buy two! But I read the reviews and watched the videos and it seemed to me that the investment was worth it. And it was. This is a truly brilliant design and build quality and materials. They are great and very functional. I ordered a medium sized round stretcher with a curved mesh top that opens on the round base. One is white and the other is chocolate. One cat only weighs 9 pounds so he had plenty of room, and while the other cat weighed 15 pounds he had room to curl up comfortably. The best thing about these carriers is that they are designed to be mounted on a car seat and the seat belts pass through a Velcro strap that attaches the carrier to the seat very securely. really safe and secure and so easy to manipulate. Since my cats don't easily fit into carrier bags, having different zippers that create different hotspots is very helpful. You can open the top of the mesh dome, have someone open it, and then slide your pet inside while you or your partner zip to close it. I'm sure with a dog it's a piece of cake. cats, not so much. Since they are shy cats, I sat between two carrier bags on the back seat for a while, opened part of the side bag and stuck my hand in to pet them to calm them down a bit. Good thing about the zips and mesh at the top. The cats could see me from all sides and I could see them too. The fluffy zippered lining feels so cozy, cats love it. And I love it because it washes well. One of the cats peed a little and I was able to wash it on the go and it came out great and dried quickly. These are not only carrier bags, but also excellent beds. I kept the carriers without the mesh for weeks before the trip so they could get used to it and not just associate it with travel. Much to my delight, they began sleeping in them a few days after I tested them. I just can't get enough of these beds/stretchers and I love the colors I chose too. Rich chocolate brown and white is a lovely pure white that somehow manages to stay clean and each looks great with black interiors and trim. And finally, they are very strong, durable and well constructed. Yes, what a find!
