Review on πŸ”¬ Ohaus SPX2202 Scout Analytical Balance: Precision and Accuracy for Analytical Applications by Jon Garcia

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Better/More features than I expected

I'm used to using the old Ohaus three beam balances which require some math skills to measure accurately as there is no tare function gives . I ordered this scale despite my dislike - it turns off automatically at the worst possible moment and accuracy is questionable for most as readings can fluctuate a bit. old triple balancers. I've used it several times and the only thing I don't like is the bubble level. They tried to make it convenient by building it into the product, but the bubble is really too small and insensitive to properly aim the device. Instead, I would recommend using a torpedo level. In addition, it can count parts and measure them in more units than I've ever used on any of my scales. What is impressive is that the readings do not wander after the reset. I thought the 10mg resolution might be an issue but so far it has been reliable. My device had the auto-off feature turned off by default, so that's a good thing - I don't care if I have to change the batteries. Another nice feature is the backlight, which turns on whenever the reading changes. It only turns off if the reading has been static for a certain number of seconds. I haven't mounted my calibration weights on it yet, so I can't comment on the accuracy yet. I will update my review on this later.
