I inherited a leather (very shabby) bomber jacket that was almost as hard as cardboard. The pleats at the back were wide open as if they had been ironed that way. I soaked and washed the jacket in a warm water bath and hung it in the basement for a few days to dry. Secure the back pleats from the inside of the jacket with a few clothespins while it's still damp. When the jacket was dry I tumble dried the jacket a bit to warm up the leather and rubbed a moderate amount of this oil into the leather with a rag. The jacket drank from it and became much more supple. The back pleats now open and close, and the overall jacket is softer and smoother. The color has really gotten darker, we can guess something between dry and wet shades. I was very happy with the results. I think it was a cowhide leather jacket and I would be wary of using this product on suede or suede without testing first. After that I tried it on a pair of honey colored leather work gloves which were sturdy and also got a lot more flexible. I believe one pair was suede but both have darkened and become a bit tacky. There was a lot more oil on it and maybe too much was applied. Overall I think this is a very good skin softening product when used properly.
