My old handle broke, the lever was plastic inside. This lever is made of metal; So it needs to be stronger, and the metal can bend and keep its new shape in the event the arm touches the inside wall of the tank. Turns out I had to bend it a bit to keep it from scratching the wall. My only problem was that the square piece on the outside didn't fit perfectly, in fact I had to tap it gently with a rubber mallet as I couldn't get it all the way into the hole. I still couldn't get it all the way in, but didn't want to risk breaking the ceramic handle or ceramic reservoir. Everything still worked well, despite a slight imperfection in the handle that protruded slightly (not a very noticeable perfection, except for me). It only took a pair of pliers to loosen and tighten the nut.
