Like someone who has shaved their head for the last 20 years. I wish I had had them sooner lol. I have terrible smelling sweat from my head while sleeping in a hot state and I have no hair to collect. As a result, my pillows absorb most of this mess, and I'm forced to wash my pillows at least twice a month. I don't seem to know much, but when you have memory foam pillows, they take forever to dry. Over the years I've thrown out a few pillows because they just didn't dry enough and got moldy. I finally had a moment of insight and searched the internet for such cases without knowing if they even existed. I got a set and now I don't have to wash my pillows anymore, or at least not much less often. Instead, I just take this cover off and wash it. I haven't had a sweat smell on my pillow yet while using them. They work so well I bought something similar for my memory foam mattress. Helps with sweat and dog odor. I do not recommend sleeping on it without a pillowcase. It feels a bit like plastic and makes a slight rustling noise. Nothing a normal person couldn't handle. If you're moving enough to hear this then you probably have more serious sleeping issues that shouldn't be blamed on this cover lol. I can't hear it at all unless I'm listening and I'm a light sleeper. The advantage of a pillowcase over it is that I also have to wash less often. I don't know how waterproof this thing is, how much I can spill a cup of water on it. or if the dog had an accident. I'm guessing if you're just trying hard enough it probably won't protect your pillow, but I doubt you'll have any trouble getting regular sleep.
