Review on πŸ’» Dell S3221QS Ultra Thin 4K Display with DisplayPort Certification, Flicker-Free Technology, Tilt Adjustment, Anti-Glare Screen, and High Dynamic Range by Jesse Clayton

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great monitor with one caveat - you must use standard resolution.

WARNING: YOU MUST USE THE STANDARD RESOLUTION (AT LEAST FOR MAC - 13" MacBook Pro 2020). Read below for more information. Pros: 1. This monitor is very large and the curved display is great for viewing all areas of the screen without Problems to display.Huge screen that can easily hold two windows side by side with high resolution and size.2.The resolution is clear and high quality.3.The look is clean and sleek - the edges around the display are thin and the monitor base feels feels well made, heavy and solid Cons: 1. I would like the adjustable height to be increased by 1-2" so I can put my laptop in front of it and use both screens without overlapping. I'm using a 2020 13 " MacBook Pro and the top of my laptop rises about an inch or two above the bottom of the monitor even when the monitor is at full height. With an existing setup, a wider desk (my desktop is 30 inches wide), a smaller laptop, or if you're using a keyboard and processor instead of a laptop, this shouldn't be a problem. 2. You MUST USE the STANDARD RESOLUTION instead of the scaled resolution (on Mac at least - in System Preferences > Display > Resolution). It would be easier to use a scaled resolution so that font and window sizes adjust accordingly, but a scaled resolution introduces a noticeable lag when moving the mouse, scrolling, resizing, or panning windows. Using the default resolution and then adjusting the font size works and the lag is gone.3. The color of the display is a bit ash grey/grey compared to my Mac laptop display. See attached picture. The same desktop image looks less bright on an external monitor. I don't see this as a major issue as I mainly use the monitor for programming work (the decrease in brightness isn't noticeable unless I'm looking at two identical images), but it could be an issue for someone in design or something. who needs a really color monitor.
