Good lens for a small price

I bought this lens as a (relatively) cheap attempt to improve the night sky quality over the stock lens on my Sony A200 (Sony f3. 5-5 lens, 6/18-70mm) . Considering the price of this lens, this is a step up in this department. Judging by the cost and results, I'd say this is an intermediate step, but perhaps not a significant one. Attached are 2 photos I took with the same camera and with each lens so you can compare, the first is with the original lens at around 45 seconds exposure, the second is with Samyang at 20 seconds exposure. I think the camera had the same ISO settings for every shot, but I'm not 100% sure as it's been a few months since they were taken. Significantly different white balance settings. As you can see in the first image, it has a star trail with no clear definition of the Milky Way. The Samyang lens (2nd photo) corrects these shortcomings much better. The Samyang lens is 100% manual, so you have to adjust the focus and aperture yourself for each shot - the camera doesn't adjust those settings for you with this lens. It also doesn't scale. Many people would take these facts as negative, but they can also be positive and encourage you to become more familiar with your camera and lens so you can take better photos. The only real downside I have (so far) is that vignetting can be tricky. overcome. There are ways to deal with the vignetting (and some of my issues may be related to my very old camera), but maybe a more expensive/higher quality lens might be more effective at getting rid of the vignetting to begin with.
