Protective pads are almost everywhere. It will be great under a light tight jacket.
I like it for ventilation. The arms and shoulders are adjustable, the zipper works perfectly. I've seen other zip and tear reviews but I'm glad I have this one for the hot southern summer. It has more lower back protection than most jackets, front protection and forearm protection. I checked the size chart and it fits perfectly. I would love it if it had a velcro buckle around the neck and a larger selection of sync straps on the bottom strap.
