Review on Kingston DataTraveler SE9 32GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive for Reliable Data Storage (DTSE9H/32GBZ) by Matt Dyen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Too bad I can't recommend it!

Overall a nice gadget. At first I was quite happy with it. It can store a lot of data. I'm a university professor and I travel a lot to give lectures, so a lot of powerpoint presentations fit in and I was able to take the manuscripts I'm working on with me. But one day at the airport, when I pulled out the keychain with the Data Traveler attached, the TSA officer noticed that something had fallen on the ground. Looking down, I found that the real memory card had detached from the metal case and fallen to the floor. If the officer hadn't noticed, I would have lost all the lectures and manuscripts I had with me. So nothing for me anymore. Big payload but not worth the risk. I know some readers will say "well you should back up your memory card" which I did. The problem is that the original was at home and not mine. In the worst case, I use a memory card for this, part of the manuscript contained on it. was not published. Imagine if someone else found that!

Pros
  • Finally bought it
Cons
  • Modernity
