Your software is different from the keyboard

If you plan to use this keyboard on a computer and keep the software running all the time, then this review may not apply to you. K57 is not that bad. for a base-level wireless keyboard, but all the special features listed are withheld by the software. I am using a keyboard on KVM and wanted to make sure I can store macros in the keyboard's memory, which is possible using the MR + G keys on the keyboard. However, the instructions for the iCUE software state that you need to connect the keyboard via USB in order to load macros into the keyboard's memory, which never worked. When I manually set the G keys with MR+G on the keyboard, the iCUE software just wiped them from memory every time I restarted and the software ran. Also, the keyboard I received has a few faulty LEDs and they are always different colors to the other LEDs, which isn't that noticeable with the default rainbow swirl, but they really do stand out with static colors. Since I don't turn on the lights at all, mainly because the rainbow pattern can't be permanently changed, I guess I don't care about poor lighting. Pros: * Fairly quiet compared to mechanical keyboards * Keys respond to me * G-keys can be configured directly on the keyboard and stored in memory without software. Cons: * The software is still buggy and clears keyboard memory on startup. * Keyboard backlight profile doesn't want to be saved even if it's set in software (think it'll be cleared too). )* Unlike the G-keys, there's no manual lighting control without running software* Bad LEDs* This rarely happens, but I've noticed some missing keystrokes when typing at around 50-60 wpm, and my wireless Logitech never had this Problem, So I don't think it's the distance to the receiver. I can still get this keyboard back and will definitely not be replacing my current mouse with it.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Boring packaging
