The upper part of the shoe is too tight

My 4 year old daughter has had several pairs of Sperry shoes over the years and has always loved them. I saw them at a good price and bought them as the weather is cooling down and she needs closed shoes. As soon as I put them on she said they were uncomfortable, which she had never said about a shoe before. I checked that they were the right size and that they had enough room in the toe box, which they did. I asked her where they hurt and she pointed to the top of the shoe where the hole is between the toe and the Mary Jane strap. I noticed how it pressed against her leg and it definitely felt tight on her foot. It's a "space suit" type material so it might stretch, but I'm not sure if she wants to wear it enough to blow it apart. I've never seen her take her shoes off quicker and she seemed very upset that she was able to put them back on. Overall it was a great price but now I think it might be because they are oddly shaped and don't have enough room for foot height. I'm really glad I didn't buy the pink ones like I thought I would!

Pros
  • The color scheme of these rainbow flats is not only fun and playful, but versatile enough to go with a variety of outfits.
Cons
  • Restricted Use: The Mary Jane style restricts the activities a child can engage in in these shoes as they may not be appropriate for rougher play or outdoor activities.
