Two years ago our house had a power surge that shut down several appliances, so I bought some surge protectors, including this one for our Bryant oven. We had another surge this week and the surge went straight through this unit and destroyed the transformer in my oven. The device smells like burnt plastic, but both lights are still on, indicating it's still working, although it clearly shouldn't be. This tells me that the two indicator lights have nothing to do with whether the device is actually working.
