The product itself is great, from the packaging to the contents of the box it shows that Sabrent works hard to design and present their product. The case feels solid, the base and lid fit perfectly, and I had no trouble getting my Samsung EVO 860 mSATA into the slot. All in all a great feature; however, there are conditions in the recognition of the drive. <> When connecting via SATA or USB, the computer (see second <>) recognizes that the drive is connected, but does not recognize it as a brand in the adapter, it recognizes it as a "Sabrent" brand drive. As one reviewer noted, this is a disadvantage if you want to use Samsung Magician to monitor your Samsung drive.<> Unfortunately, as another reviewer noted, an older business-class laptop doesn't seem to be able to do it to recognize the drive if it is connected via SATA. Your experience is based on DELL laptops, mine is based on LENOVO X220T. The drive is recognized when I connect it via a Micro-B to USB cable or a SATA to USB cable, but for some reason the internal SATA connection just doesn't work. I have a CRUCIAL BX500 that connects with no problems so I'm inclined to think it could be a firmware issue, but I'm an amateur when it comes to electronics so I'll leave the decision to the experts. If you could study that, SABRENT, that would be great! Despite the warnings, I will keep the product. A fixed star stands for the warnings described above. If SABRENT repairs its product in these two areas, then this product deserves a 5/5.
