Easy one man assembly and durability

Another quality product from Kohler. You pay a little more, but it's worth it for the ease of installation and the good build quality of the case. I used to install first aid kits. It was always a difficult process. This time I bought a Kohler Surface Mount product. It was an easy task for one person. Installation. Since this was a one person job I removed the cabinet doors first. There is a screw on each of the two hinges that are attached to the inside frame of the cabinet. I placed the cabinet on its back and removed the screws from the hinges and the doors came off. Now all I have left is the cabinet frame, which is very light and easy to work with. (It is important to remember not to remove the hinges from the mirrored doors). I would advise even if you have help removing the doors. want the cabinet to be centered/mounted. Also put tape on your closet and mark the center of your closet on the tape. Then you need to take out the level and mark the level on the masking tape. This will ensure your closet is level. Double check where you want your closet to be. You will also need a spike finder and mark their location on tape. You need at least one bolt to secure the cabinet. Now the best part of this Kohler cabinet is the mounting bar. This bar allows for very easy installation by one person. Apply painter's tape along the entire length of the mounting plate. Make sure you press down on the tape hard enough so you can see the groove in the mounting plate. (This is where you drill the mounting screws). The next step is to keep the mounting bar on the horizontal line previously marked on the masking tape. Mark the position of the pegs on the board. This is where you drill the rod for the mounting screws. (Studs should be 16 inches from center.) If you cannot install with two studs, mark the location of a stud. You must use the single bobby pin closest to the center. You then need to mark on the pole where you will be using the drywall anchors. If you're using a single bolt, I recommend using 2 drywall anchors rated at 65 pounds. The rod is then attached to the wall in three places. (It doesn't go down) The most important thing to note about the crossbar is that the cabinet sits on top of the rail and can be moved left or right to center it where you want the cabinet. When the cabinet is moved left or right for assembly, its left or right movement is limited by the frame of the cabinet - the frame hits the end of the rod and stops. Just make sure you can move the cabinet left or right to the exact spot you want it so you don't hit the end of the rod and move the cabinet off center. This has happened to me, but the deviation was only 3/4 inch and couldn't be noticed. Next you need to drill pilot holes in the mounting plate in the groove. You will need 2 metal drill bits. They are golden in colour. Drill a 1/16" pilot hole and then a 3/16" hole. It's important to remember to move slowly and use very little force with the 1/16" bit or it will break. Note that the assembly instructions state that the mounting holes must be at least 1 inch from the end of the rod. If you are using drywall anchors, do not drill 3/16" holes at this time. Drill only 1/16 inch diameter holes. I'll explain why later. Next, screw/attach the rod to the wall. You want this spot to be marked on the horizontal line on the masking tape. You can use your 3/16" drill bit and simply drill through the surface of the drywall so you can see it when looking through the hole(s) in the rod. Now it's time to delete your feed. Attach the crossbar to the wall with a screw just enough to allow you to move the crossbar on it with a level and make sure the crossbar is level. After alignment, tighten this screw to keep the mounting plate from moving. (Tip: Apply a bar of soap or wax, such as a candle, to the threads of the mounting screws to lubricate them as you thread them into the pins.) If you are using two studs, install the second screw into the bolt. If using drywall anchors, drill 1/16 holes in the drywall. This will ensure accurate placement of the drywall anchors. Then remove the rod from the wall and drill a 3/16" diameter hole through the 1/16" pilot holes for the drywall anchors. Now drill a 1/8 pilot hole in the wall for the drywall anchors. Insert/screw in the drywall anchors and fasten the joist firmly to the wall. drywall anchor. There's only one guy who keeps this safe. These are self-drilling drywall anchors. Searching for Revain Prime will show you what to use. They are self-drilled with a screwdriver, but a pilot hole is drilled for precise installation. Finally, install the cabinet on the mounting plate. Slide it into place on the bar. Stand on a ladder or ladder so you can easily access the top of the closet. Attach the two mounting brackets, making sure they are firmly against the wall. Trace the inside of the oblong mounting hole on the wall. Remove the cabinet from the mounting bracket. Drill an 1/8 hole in the center of the oblong mounting hole marked on the wall. Now screw in the 2 drywall anchors. Put the housing back on the mounting plate and slide it in. Place the top mounting brackets onto the cabinet and secure it to the wall with two drywall anchors. It would be better if you had a long shank screwdriver, but the length of the stand is enough. last thing. Reinstall the doors using the two screws removed earlier. I put them on myself, but having another person hold the doors will make my job easier. Everything is ready except for the installation of shelves. All I can say is if you want a quality cabinet and easy installation, you must buy this cabinet.
