Review on Amazfit Bip S Fitness Smartwatch by Ghazanfar Ali ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I do not cease to rejoice at the purchase, a very good deal!

I was searching for an alternative to the Mi Band that was something that was more appealing, informative, and handy (I wore the entire series from 1 to 4). And most importantly, I wanted a solution to the problem that irritated me tremendously in the Mi Band of all versions with a screen, which was a revolting response to turning my hand to see the time. I wanted a solution to this problem so badly that I was willing to do anything to find one. That was successful once, maybe even twice. It was important to me to locate a remedy for this issue. It was essential to perform a sequence of movements in order to check the time in a hurry, even in circumstances in which one's hands were otherwise engaged. I made the decision to buy an Amazfit Bip S after doing a lot of research on several watches and contrasting how they stacked up against one another. I did this because the watch satisfies almost all of my minimal requirements for a wearable smart device (calls notification, activity and sleep metering, weather, timer, alarm clock), is 2 times more convenient to use than a bracelet (due to the information content of the screen), and is more comfortable to sit on the arm as a result of its wider shape. In addition, the watch is 2 times more convenient to use than a bracelet in terms of its ability to tell the time. I have been wearing it (at the moment) for a total of three weeks, and I can state without a doubt that I am satisfied with the choice (except for the minuses I described). And I really hope that in the new firmware (since the clock is new, so there must be ates), they will either add new functionalities or at the very least cure some of the difficulties that are currently present. As the situation develops, I will revise the analysis to reflect the new information.

Pros
  • My experience with wearable technology is limited to the Xiaomi Mi Band 4, as I have not tried any other smartwatches or wristbands (in addition to the 1, 2, and 3 models). An good option would be a screen that does not require a backlight and that can be read in natural light. The reason for this is that it has a low pixel density, which results in a picture that is not nearly as rich, vivid, or dazzling as it typically is. It is not necessary to be able to tell time or use any of the other features of the clock; reading the time is suffice. Another advantage is that using this approach will ensure that the watch will last for a very long time, which is a plus. - Extremely high levels of autonomy; depending on how you intend to use it, you won't have to worry about charging it for at least three weeks even if you don't use it very often. To me, one of the most significant considerations is whether or not the price is acceptable for what I'm getting. - They have a nice design, and in contrast to the Mi Band, they do not give the impression of being a child's plaything when worn on a man's hand. The pressure that is applied on the hand is spread more evenly over the hand as a result of the bigger surface area, the proportions are pleasant, and the band does not protrude from the wrist as much as the Mi Band does. - Convenient control: You can quickly access the functions you want by simply pressing a button and swiping your finger across the screen. This makes the control system very user-friendly. Despite this, very nothing is prepared (see cons). Both the sensor that monitors your heart rate and the pedometer look to be precise enough for their respective purposes. The global positioning system (GPS) works as it should, although it does have a few limitations. - The watch is capable of including workouts (yes, this feature was originally available on the Mi Band 4); but, there is now a wider variety of programs from which to chose. There is a helpful tool that will immediately suspend any activities that are being carried out at the moment. For example, they intended to go for a stroll or ride their bikes, but when they stopped (by going into the store), the watch itself stopped collecting data. The watch restarted its data collection after the wearer picked up where it left off and continued their previous activity, whether it be walking or driving. - You are able to attach one workout to the long press of a button, which is an extremely helpful feature (I set a walk so that you can switch it on while you are moving about)! - A wider selection of options for customizing the strap as a result of having a regular 20 mm jack, much like in other watches; this allows for more customization options. You will have the ability to assign direct access to the watch functions that are used the most frequently if you have a couple of watch faces that can be customized and choose how they look (for example, I set a quick access to the timer and workouts).
Cons
  • My opinion is that there ought to be a few more sensors and sophisticated measurement tools than there now are. It is true that the cost of the watch would have increased by two or three thousand dollars (because to the expense of the additional technological equipment and software), but as a result, the watches would have been a great deal more intriguing. Because of a series of tragic events, the barometer was rendered inoperable, and as a direct consequence, the bike tracks no longer reflected any changes in altitude. We would appreciate it if there was more granular control over how the separate components of the clock display were produced. You will, for instance, have to work your way through the menu in order to reach particular functionalities, such as the timer, which you want to use. If I had the ability to manually add this function to one of the screens, it would make a significant difference in how convenient everything is for me. It is possible to find a solution to the problem by using custom skins; but, if I do that, I would lose the possibility to customize the watch's appearance. The GPS sensor does not have very good accuracy, as seen by the fact that the walking tracks are off by ten, twenty, or thirty meters in comparison to the actual route. It does not have an intelligent alarm, and it does not integrate with any other apps. In order to set up a smart alarm clock on your phone, you will need to download two additional applications onto it, both of which cost money. The information obtained from the clock application on your phone will be scrambled by one of these applications, and the other application will perform some kind of calculation using this information. It is well past time for Xiaomi to incorporate this feature into its products that are aimed at the general public. - A rotating button (which could be a design flaw or a reserve for the future), it would be nice if the rotations controlled the scrolling on the watch itself, as is done in older models, and it would be nice if this feature was reserved for the future. Additionally, it would be nice if this feature was reserved for the future. The Zepp app is fairly comparable to MiFit, but in addition to those similarities, it also contains a wide range of other capabilities (which are displayed all at once, but some of them are not available). It was possible, in the most recent version of MiFit, to bind a notification from an alarm clock on the phone, which resolved the issue of having double alarms appear on the watch. However, you cannot use this function any longer because it has been removed. - Does not catch daytime sleep. The Xiaomi Mi Band 5 has given the impression that it will incorporate this feature. As a result of this, I think that it is really significant. Throughout the course of the night, I frequently awaken for little periods of time. - Monitoring of sleep at the same level as the Mi Band 4 (but excluding the REM sleep phase), although I would love it to be like the Mi Band 5 version instead. I have attempted everything that comes to mind in an effort to customize the watch so that it alerts me just when I want to be notified by specific apps; but, there is no option for me to do so. For example, I want to be notified when messengers place a call to my phone, but I don't need to be notified when they send me a message.
