Here is my experience from the incurable techie: Good This is a great radio. I bought this for my father who loves merchandise from the 40's to 50's. The controls are intuitive and the glowing round dial is a nice touch. FM has no noticeable signal drift over time which is great! The sound quality is excellent in battery mode. I loaded a tf card with some old radio shows/music for nostalgia. I did some tests before giving it to my dad. I'll keep an eye on this post for more opinions. Strange, but all the following disadvantages relate to the power system. 1) You sent a micro USB cable with this radio to charge the radio. The charging port on the radio is a mini USB. As a techie I'm a fan of cables so finding an old mini USB cable wasn't a problem, but my dad would have been embarrassed if I mailed it to him directly. 2) When the radio is plugged in and turned on, it reduces the sound quality (you will hear static, especially on the AM band). The charging system doesn't seem to have a fantastic charge control system. This isn't the best idea if you're using lithium batteries for backup power. And talk about it. 3). Much higher capacity 18650 batteries are available than with this radio. In the future I could use this radio to replace my existing battery with a 3400+ mAh battery which would double the playtime on battery power. To the manufacturers: I would recommend increasing the size of the battery so it lasts longer between charges, especially with the previous issue. It would have cost a few dollars more in manufacturing costs and increased product weight. All in all this is a fantastic feature packed radio for the price. Run it on battery power and you'll find it's a great product that reminds you of a simpler time. Buy one!
