Hooks are functional and well made. An assembly is not required. The application requires a bit of planning to ensure proper placement the first time. The product looks bigger in the photo than it actually is. You should look at the size listed on the product page so you are not surprised. I attached the hooks to the smooth ceramic surface in the shower and so far they are holding in place. I only use them to hang wet clothes and bathing suits. One of the hooks that came with it had a small defect on the adhesive backing. I contacted the seller and left an online review and a replacement was sent to me promptly.
